Magic, wands + wings: you’re invited to an enchanted butterfly garden party!
Beautiful. Playful. Whimsical. Is there anything more magical than a butterfly? It’s little wonder why it’s a popular party theme for little girls celebrating their birthdays.
If you’re looking for butterfly theme party ideas for a 1st birthday, toddler, or pre-schooler, then get inspired by this #GORGEOUS event by super-stylist mum Mel from Sweet Dreams and Goodnight.
Last year, we featured Mel’s rainbow unicorn party for her daughter’s 4th birthday, so we were incredibly excited to see what she had in store for her little princess this time around.
And we were not disappointed – styled and coordinated by Mel herself, and with the help of a number of suppliers including Favor Lane, Stylish Soirees, and The Bohemian Flower Collective, the team created an enchanted butterfly garden sleepover for lucky Milly and her three best friends.
From the too-cute birthday party decorations to the on-point party food, we’re sure these magical photos will give you tons of ideas on how to host a cohesive butterfly-themed party for your little one! Keep scrolling to start crushing on all the prettiness below…
Butterfly birthday party decorations
Mel decorated her space with a huge white and peach balloon installation from Favor Lane that took over the whole ceiling. With assistant balloon styling by Stylish Soirees, we especially love the cute butterflies that were delicately perched onto the balloons as an added effect.
Butterfly birthday party food ideas
The table was set picnic-style with partyware from Illume, which added a whimsical touch to the overall feel. Check out that gorgeous floral arrangement by The Bohemian Flower Collective, which was used as an alternative to a table runner. What a great way to incorporate the outdoors in!
The guests sat on plush pillows as they tucked into the most delicious-looking desserts by Sugar and Salt Cookies, My Petite Sweets, and Petals & Pop. #YUM! Adding a butterfly mould to any dessert is an instant and easy way to incorporate the theme into all elements.
Of course, not one, but three cakes were needed for this birthday party! We especially love the cute doughnut wall by XOXO Designs - you can never have too many types of desserts!
Kids party entertainment
It's no secret that kids can get a little bit restless, which is why Mel hired a Princess and a Fairy from Glass Slipper Entertainment, who entertained the girls with dancing and face painting activities.
The girls played dress-ups in gorgeous outfits by Tutu Du Monde dresses, with a stunning pair of butterfly wings and wands by Arabelle's Vintage Wardrobe.
And how amazing are those giant paper flowers from Stylish Paper that have been peppered all over the space? We LOVE!
If you're looking for unique party favours, then you'll love these chocolates + birdcages by Cherished Bonbonniere & Decorated Chocolates. And check out those beautiful invitations from Elk Prints!
It looks like the enchanted butterfly garden party of our dreams!
